The University of Queensland Diamantina Institute (UQDI) is glad to offer a number of scholarships for clinicians who are pursuing MPhil or PhD degree at the university. Up to four the most deserving candidates will be selected to receive the award.
The University of Queensland Diamantina Institute (UQDI) is pleased to announce a new scholarship program to support recently qualified clinicians to undertake research higher degree studies. Four scholarships are available for newly qualified clinicians to undertake MPhil or PhD programs. This scholarship will be in addition to any University, Hospital, Commonwealth or Philanthropic scholarships candidates that might also be awarded (subject to conditions of the external scholarship allowing recipient to hold multiple scholarships). Through this program, clinicians will combine their knowledge of clinical issues with state of the art biomedical research facilities in order to transform clinically relevant research into direct patient outcomes.
UQ Diamantina has a sum of up to $25,000 available to provide a scholarship or to top up a UQ scholarship.

Eligibility and Criteria
- You must be enrolled as either an MPhil or PhD student via UQ Diamantina Institute.
- You should apply for a competitive UQ scholarship.
- Should you be successful in receiving a UQ scholarship, UQ Diamantina will provide you with a top up scholarship of $18,750 per annum for a period of 16 months (to a value of $25000).
- Should you not be successful in receiving a UQ scholarship, UQ Diamantina will offer you a scholarship of $25,000 per annum for one year or $12,500 per year over two years, as agreed between you and your supervisor.
There is no nationality requirement.
