NASA Scholarships are now open. Three type of scholarships and research opportunities are available for 2015 round; MUREP Scholarship, Aeronautics Scholarship Program for Undergraduate and Aeronautics Scholarship for graduate. U.S students majoring in STEM, Science and related field are welcome to apply. The scholarship value is varied depending on the scholarship types. Please submit your application no later than March 31, 2015.
NASA through One Stop Shopping Initiative – OSSI is currently inviting U.S students to apply one of the three types of scholarships. These scholarships as follow:
1. Minority University Research Education Project (MUREP)
2. Aeronautics Scholarship Program – Undergraduate
3. Aeronautics Scholarship Program – Graduate
Those scholarships provide financial support to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) degrees and provide the opportunity for students to deepen their inquiry within STEM through a myriad of channels including a research experience, technical collaborations and professional development. The NASA Scholarship and Research Opportunities are competitive opportunities that focuses on students in STEM discipline to address the critical shortage of qualified STEM professionals that the nation is facing.
The following are the detail information of what will be covered with each scholarships:
NASA Minority University Research Education Project (MUREP) Scholarship Program For each scholar, the institution receives 75% of the tuition up to a $9,000 award per scholar utilizing the scholarship support in awarded year via a NASA training grant.
NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program-Undergraduate Program: Selected undergraduate students’ receive 100% of their tuition and education related cost up to $15,000 per academic year for 2 years via a NASA training grant. Students are required to participate in summer internship during the summer of scholarship award period. The scholars receive a $10,000 stipend for their participation.
NASA Aeronautics Scholarship Program-Graduate Program: Graduates will be funded up to $11,000 towards their tuition and will receive a $35,000 stipend per academic year for 2 years via a NASA training grant. Students shall participate in the proposal research at a NASA center during the summer of scholarship award period. The scholars receive a $10,000 stipend for their participation.
Level and Area of Studies
Research, undergraduate, master and doctoral on the field of STEM discipline (Chemistry, computer and information science and engineering (CISE), Engineering, Geosciences, Life Sciences, materials research, mathematical sciences, physics and astronomy) except Aeronautics scholarship which is available for aeronautic/aviation studies (Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics).

Eligibility and Criteria

– Be US citizens.
– Have a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) or greater on a 4.0 scale.
– Be pursuing a STEM discipline.
Only U.S applicants will be considered in these scholarships.
