Annually, the JNCASR-CICS Fellowship is available. This program is intended to scientists from developing countries in Asia, Africa and Arab region. Indians are ineligible for this fellowship. The winning fellows will do research or training at an Indian scientific institution. This fully-funded award will be tenable for maximum three months. The application deadline is 31 October each year.
This fellowship programme is jointly instituted by the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR ) Bangalore and the Centre for International Co-operation in Science(CICS), Chennai to encourage mobility of scientists from developing countries. The Fellowship covers short-term research, training or participatory research work in physical, chemical or biological sciences in reputed scientific institutions in India including JNCASR.
The fellowship covers the following expenses:
- international return air fare by the shortest route by economy class from the place of work of the candidate at his/her country to the host institution in India,
- boarding, lodging (for the individual only) at the affiliated institution
- other subsistence expenses in the form of an adequate allowance in Indian currency.

Research or training program in physical, chemical or biological sciences.
Place of Study
The program will be taken in India.
Eligibility and Criteria
Applicant must be a scientist, teacher or a research scholar affiliated to a scientific or academic institution in a developing country in Asia (other than India), Africa, Latin America and Arab region.
The citizens of developing countries in Africa, Asia and Arab region other than India may apply this fellowship.
