JMAS Sim Fellowship for Research in Depressive Illness

The Depressive Illness Research Fellowship or JMAS Sim Fellowship is now open. This research award available for international students with medicine background who will do research in depression related studies. This year, the fellowship provides up to £200,000 for the selected researchers.

Fellowship Description
The John, Margaret, Alfred and Stewart Sim Fellowship provides funding for any graduates in Medicine and Science to research the causes or treatment of depression. Applicants may request funding for up to three years. This fellowship is fully funded by the Royal College of Physicians and the University of Edinburgh.

Award Value
The sponsors offer up to £200,000, including on-costs and essential research expenses.

Eligibility and Criteria
To be eligible, the candidates should be medicine and science graduate. Please note, scholars from all over the world may apply this fellowship.

Applicants’ Nationality
There is no nationality restriction to apply this JMAS Sim Fellowship .

To apply, all applicants are required to submit all of the documents as follow:

  • a completed application form
  • a summary of the research proposal – limited to 1,000 words
  • CV
  • a letter of support from their Head of Department/Institution
  • a professional reference
