IDRC Research Awards for Canadian and Developing Countries’ Citizens

The The International Development Research Centre (IDRC) is delighted to offer a number of IDRC Research Awards. Eligible students should be the citizens of Canada and those are coming from developing countries. Those awards aimed to support a one year research in relevant field as listed below. Up to 10 best scholars will be evaluated to receive award amounting CA$39,996-CA$46,301. Other benefits may also be given. The application deadline is 7 September 2016.

Award Description
IDRC offers these awards to graduate-level Canadians, permanent residents of Canada, and citizens of developing countries. Research award recipients will undertake a one-year paid program of research on the topic they have submitted, and will receive hands-on experience in research management, grant administration, and the creation, dissemination, and use of knowledge from an international perspective.

Salary for one year (in Canada): CA$39,996-CA$46,301

Level and Area of Studies
Research program in Climate Change, Employment and Growth, Food, Environment, and Health, Foundations for Innovation, Governance and Justice, Maternal and Child Health, Networked Economies, Think Tank Initiative.

Place of Study
The research can be taken in one of these countries: Afghanistan, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, Congo (Democratic Republic of), Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gabon, Guinea Bissau, Liberia, Libya, Mali, Niger, Papua New Guinea, Small Island States [including Comoros, Mauritius, São Tomé and Principe, Seychelles, Timor-Leste and Oceania (Cook Islands, Fiji, Nauru, Kiribati, Palau, Marshall Islands, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tuvalu, Tonga, Vanuatu, Wallis & Futuna)], South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, West Bank and Gaza, and Yemen.

Eligibility and Criteria
This call is open to Canadians, permanent residents of Canada, and citizens of developing countries pursuing OR who have completed a master’s or a doctoral degree at a recognized university.
