The Victoria University of Wellington is excited to invite applications for the Edna Waddell Scholarship. This scholarship is aimed to support New Zealand students undertaking undergraduate program in engineering or technology at the university. Please note, only female students are invited to apply. The winning candidates will receive $5,000 each. To apply, the application packet must be received no later than 1 September 2017/18.
The Edna Waddell scholarships are for women entering their first year of full-time study for an undergraduate degree in engineering or technology – open to school leavers and mature women. The purpose of the Scholarships is to provide funds to help women begin study for degrees in engineering and technology at a New Zealand university. The Scholarships are for women entering their first year of full time study for an undergraduate degree.
This year, three awards available. Each of those amounting up to $5,000.

Eligibility and Criteria
Eligible candidates should fulfill the requirements as follow:
- Applicants will be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents with at least three years proven residence in New Zealand.
- Applicants for the Edna Waddell scholarships shall: be gaining the entry qualifications for their chosen degree and be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents with at least three years proven residence in New Zealand,
- show enthusiasm and some knowledge of technology and engineering, particularly in their chosen field,
- have leadership and creative skills.
